Wallaceburg Murder Hearings Continue

The woman charged in the Wallaceburg murder case will stay in custody while evidence is reviewed.

Kourtny Audette appeared in Chatham court via video link on Wednesday morning. She is charged in the death of Nick Laprise of Dover Township, who was found murdered at a Wallaceburg home on April 18.

The defense is still in the process of seeing the Crown's evidence against the accused. The court says Audette will remain in custody.

She will appear again in Chatham court on Tuesday, May 15 at 10:30am for disclosure.

A publication ban is in place for all evidence discussed during the bail appearances.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
