Chatham Woman Guilty Of Fraud Gets Jail Time

A Chatham woman is spending time behind bars after pleading guilty to fraud.

Stephanie Bellamy was sentenced to 12 months and one day in jail at a hearing Thursday. She is also being ordered to pay a $200 victim surcharge and a $200,000 restitution fee.

Stephanie and her husband Jeffrey Bellamy were arrested on October 5, 2016, following an internal fraud investigation at Dana Canada Corp.

Jeffrey’s charge of fraud over $5,000 was later dropped and other counts against Stephanie were withdrawn.

She pleaded guilty to one count of fraud over $5,000 on April 30.
