Small Boat Capsizes Near Lighthouse Cove

Three people kicked off the long weekend with a soggy and shivering start after a small boat capsized on Lake St. Clair near Lighthouse Cove Friday morning.

Officials with the Canadian Coast Guard say only two of the three people who were stranded in the water were wearing life jackets.

The coast guard managed to take them to a nearby dock where they were transferred to an ambulance for further treatment, but it's not clear how badly they were hurt.

No other details are available at this point.

The Canadian Coast Guard inshore rescue boat station just opened this week, in anticipation of a busy recreational boating season.
