CK OPP Briefs - Thursday May 31, 2018.

Chatham-Kent OPP have charged a 32-year-old man from Brampton with careless driving after a tractor trailer rear-ended a vehicle on Hwy. 401.

Police say it happened in the construction area near Victoria Rd. on Monday.

Investigators say a vehicle was slowing down to enter into the single lane construction zone when a tractor trailer failed to slow down and slammed into the back of the vehicle.

The OPP say there were no injuries.

Stunt driving charges have been laid against a 46-year-old man from Lakeshore.

The OPP say he was caught driving more than 160 km/h Wednesday afternoon in the construction zone on Hwy. 401 near Queens Line.

His driver's licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for seven days.

A 64-year-old Chatham truck driver has been charged with operating an unsafe vehicle.

Chatham-Kent OPP say officers responded to a grass fire at the eastbound Tilbury OnRoute Service Centre on Wednesday and found a tractor trailer lost two wheels.

Investigators say the crash caused a small grass fire.
