Accused Tire Slasher Assaulted During Drug-Fueled Dispute

Chatham-Kent police say two local women are facing charges after a fight in Chatham early Friday morning.

Officers say it started after a 36-year-old woman allegedly slashed the tires of her neighbour's vehicle. After that, a verbal argument took place and a 64-year-old woman allegedly assaulted the accused tire slasher.

Police say when they arrived at the scene, they determined that both of the women involved in the argument were under the influence of drugs.

As a result of the police investigation, a 36-year-old Chatham woman is charged with mischief and a 64-year-old Chatham woman is charged with assault.

They have both been released with conditions and a future court date.
