Inflatable Pool Stolen From Walmart

A 36-year-old woman is facing charges after a shoplifting incident at the Walmart in Chatham Monday morning.

Police say the woman is accused of grabbing several items from the store, including an inflatable pool in a large box, and taking off without paying for them.

Investigators allege an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg saw her vehicle with the box still sticking out of the trunk and pulled her over.

She was charged with theft, possession of stolen property, and driving without a licence.

Second Theft Investigation At Walmart

Chatham-Kent police say a 31-year-old man is charged in connection with a separate theft investigation at the Chatham Walmart store.

Police allege a security guard working at the store Monday afternoon reportedly saw the man put a pair of Skull Candy earphones worth about $40 into his pants and walk out without paying for them.

He was also arrested charged with theft and possession of stolen property.

Tools, Amps, Pressure Washer Stolen

Police are appealing to the public for tips after someone broke into a garage on Patteson Ave. in Chatham over the weekend and made off with a variety of items.

Officers say it happened sometime between June 2 at 9am and June 4 at 12pm.

Whoever broke in managed to get away with:

- an 18 volt drill

- a gas-powered Briggs & Stratton 6.5 hp pressure washer

- two 14” adjustable wrenches along with assorted wrenches

- two vintage 100 watt amplifiers

- a 4” Makita grinder

- a Ryobi 4 cycle gas weed whacker

- a 12” Craftsman chop saw

The total value of the theft is around $1,000. Anyone with information should contact police or Crime Stoppers.

Jewelry Stolen From Thrift Store

Police are trying to track down some stolen jewelry and a suspect after a break-in at Bibles For Mission on Wellington St. in Chatham.

Officers say someone forced their way into the store at around 1pm on Sunday and stole an undisclosed quantity of jewelry from a glass display case.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
