Transport Truck Rams Into Car On Hwy. 401

Provincial police are reminding drivers to slow down when approaching the scene of a crash.

Chatham-Kent OPP are making that statement after the vehicle pictured above was rear-ended by a transport truck on Hwy. 401 near Ridgetown on Tuesday.

Police say a female driver in the westbound lane was slowing down because of traffic build-up from a crash that had happened earlier Tuesday morning. As the vehicle was slowing down, a transport truck smashed into the back of the vehicle.

The car was severely damaged and both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

OPP tweeted out the picture saying, "investigators are grateful no one was in the back seat of the other vehicle at the time."

The female driver suffered minor injuries. Meanwhile, police say charges are pending against the driver of the tractor trailer.
