Temperature Record Falls For A Second Day; Heat Warning Over

Environment Canada has ended its heat warning for Southwestern Ontario but, late-afternoon heat Monday resulted in another fallen record for Windsor.

Environment Canada says the temperature high at Windsor Airport reached 34.9 C at 4pm. This eclipses the June 18 record of 34.5 C set in 2007, resulting in the second straight day of record warmth for Windsor.

The humidex reported at the airport at the time was 45 C.

It was the third day of warm weather, just days before the official start of summer. A heat warning remains in effect as of 5pm Monday.

A cold front moving through the region Monday night into Tuesday will bring a chance of showers or thunderstorms, followed by cooler temperatures for the rest of the work week.
