Ag Hall of Fame Announces Latest Inductees

The Kent Agricultural Hall of Fame is adding four new members this fall.

Robert Kerr is known for being a pioneer of new agricultural practice to produce healthy food and is an innovator when it comes to Organic crops.

Dr. Art Schaafsma is a farmer, author, and speaker who also works at the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus. He has also consulted around the world on insect and disease management strategies.

And George and Ruth Bieber were a farming couple in the Palmayra area, who inspired the next generation of farmers in the form Orford Township.

The group will be inducted on Tuesday, November 13 at Countryview Golf Course at 11:30am. Tickets are available by calling Kathy Vanek at 519-683-2929.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
