Charges Pending In Hwy. 401 Crash

Drivers should expect to hit traffic on the Hwy. 401 ahead of the Canada Day long weekend, but there may be more of a slowdown approaching Hwy. 40.

Chatham-Kent OPP say a two-vehicle crash happened Friday afternoon, just after 2:30pm.

Police say traffic had already been moving slowly in the eastbound lanes near a construction zone when a car reportedly rear-ended a pick-up truck near Communication Rd. The pick-up truck ended up going into the center median and the other vehicle ended up in the ditch.

Minor injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
