Thailand Cave Rescue Successfully Extracts 12 Boys And Coach

All 12 boys and their coach who have been trapped in a deep cave in northern Thailand since June 23 are finally free.

Thailand's Navy Seals posted the update on their Facebook page shortly after 8am.

The rescue operation started over the weekend with four boys extracted from the cave complex on Sunday.  Another four were rescued Monday.

Health officials in Thailand have said the first eight were in good health, although two have contracted a lung infection.

The boys entered the cave more than two weeks ago and became trapped inside when heavy rains flooded the passageway.

The boys are aged 11 to 17.
