UPDATE: Hwy. 401 WB Re-opened At Ridgetown

The westbound lanes of Hwy. 401 near Ridgetown are open again after being closed for several hours on Thursday morning.

Chatham-Kent OPP say on Thursday around 2am, a westbound transport lost control in the construction zone, rolled onto its side and came to rest in the north ditch.

The crash forced police to close the westbound lanes to allow for removal of the transport.

Police say the driver suffered minor injuries, and the westbound lanes were closed from Victoria Rd. to Kent Bridge Rd. while the collision scene was cleaned up. The westbound lanes re-opened just before 10am.

As a result of the crash Parminder Deeng, 39, of Brampton has been charged with careless driving.
