Dresden Raceway Season Winding Down

The horse racing season at Dresden Raceway wraps this Monday and Friday.

Track announcer Gary Patterson says they have a lot planned for the fans on Monday.

"It's free hot buttered corn on the cob, kind of fan appreciation day, as well as it's kids day," says Patterson. "So there's face painting, prizes for kids, we're having draws for six bicycles for kids on that day, so it's going to be a pretty crazy day."

Post time is 1:30pm.

And then on Friday, the Dresden Raceway has been granted a make-up date of racing for the July 22 card that was rained out.  The Friday evening card will feature giveaways from Gateway Casinos as well as a race sponsored by OLG.  Post time is 5pm.

Patterson says they've had a great season.

"So if you compare day-to-day every day that we've raced, we're up over 1,000 people, and we're up $31,000 in handle. So we've done, for the fourth year in a row, we've climbed from where we were," he says.
