Chatham Man Accused Of Causing $50K In Damage

A 27-year-old man is charged with mischief after allegedly causing $50,000 in damage to a home in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police say they got a call about the incident on August 3, adding that the man is accused of smashing windows, damaging appliances and furniture, and putting holes in the walls of the home.

Officers were able to identify a suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Police say the accused turned himself in at police headquarters at around 6:30am Monday.

The 27-year-old Chatham man was arrested, charged, and released pending a future court date.

His name has not been released.
