High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Chatham-Kent police say their investigation continues after a farm accident claimed the life of an elderly Tilbury man.
Officers say they were called to a residence on Vanedie Rd. just southeast of Tilbury at around 6pm Thursday in regards to what appears to have been an accident involving a tractor and some farm equipment.
An 83-year-old Tilbury man was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem is scheduled to take place Friday in Windsor.
The traffic unit is currently investigating the incident and police are appealing to anyone with information to contact Constable Dan Clark at danielc@chatham-kent.ca or 519-355-1092.
