Dog Dropped Off At Chatham Shelter Overnight

Animal Control Services officials in Chatham-Kent are appealing to the public for tips after someone dropped off a dog at the animal shelter in Chatham.

Manager Jason Hamm says PAWR staff found the male boxer-type dog inside their locked compound when they arrived at work Wednesday morning. It's believed the dog is approximately eight years old.

Hamm says video surveillance shows the dog was in the compound shortly after 12am Wednesday, but officers cannot see the person who put him there.

An investigation is underway and anyone who recognizes the dog or saw someone put it in the compound last night is asked to contact animal control at 226-996-9969 or email jasonpawr@gmail.com.
