Wallaceburg Woman Identified In Fatal Hwy. 40 Crash

Police have released the identity of an elderly woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash north of Wallaceburg.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Tuesday shortly before 1:30pm, an eastbound minivan on Langstaff Line drove through a stop sign at Hwy. 40 and was struck by a southbound dump truck.

The driver of the minivan, 81-year-old Catherine Tiffin of Wallaceburg, was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The other driver involved was also taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

No charges have been laid at this time.

Hwy. 40 between Whitebread Line and Dufferin Ave. was closed for around four hours while officers conducted an investigation.
