Fire At MSSC Sparks $35K In Damages

No injuries have been reported after a fire sparked at a manufacturing company in Chatham.

Officials with Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services said employees were told to evacuate the building just after 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

White smoke could be seen coming from the roof of MSSC, which is located at 201 Park Ave. E.

The fire sparked from a large furnace. Fire crews have deemed it accidental.

Although approximately $1 million of equipment was saved, the fire caused about $35,000 worth of damages.
