Heat warning continues for Labour Day weekend

Environment Canada has issued yet another heat warning for the last unofficial weekend of summer.

The warning is in effect on Sunday, covering Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, London-Middlesex, Elgin, Norfolk and Oxford Counties.

Saturday's extreme heat continues throughout the long weekend with a hot, humid air mass returning to the area.

Daytime temperatures are expected to reach 31 degrees. The humidex has the potential to push that to 41 degrees.

The high temperatures also come with the potential for rain showers.

Overnight temperatures will stay above 21 degrees.

The weather agency says the heat will remain through Wednesday. A cold front is expected Thursday to bring temperatures down to end the first week back to school.
