Man allegedly pulls knife on police in Tilbury

A 24-year-old Tilbury man is facing charges after he allegedly pulled out a knife while he was speaking with some Chatham-Kent police officers over the long weekend.

Police said they found him on Tilbury Street on Monday afternoon after receiving a report of a suspicious man in that area.

Investigators said after the man allegedly pulled out the pocket knife, he was ordered to drop it, but he opened it up instead of putting it down.

Police said the man eventually dropped the knife and was taken into custody after a struggle with officers at the scene.

He was charged with possession of a dangerous weapon and resisting a peace officer and later released with conditions and a future court date.
