Storm watches and warnings issued for Southwestern Ontario

A severe thunderstorm watch is no longer in effect for southwestern Ontario.

Environment Canada had issued the alert for Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, and Sarnia-Lambton Monday afternoon and into the evening hours.

Conditions were favourable for dangerous thunderstorms that could produce damaging wind gusts and torrential rain.

The weather agency had advised people in the area to be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and to take necessary safety precautions.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
