Late night drive turns up stolen vehicle

A couple of Chatham residents have been charged after they were accused of driving a stolen vehicle on Fairview Line.

Chatham-Kent OPP said a vehicle was pulled over near Highway 40 around midnight on September 11. The officer noticed that the plate on the vehicle did not match and the driver had a suspended licence.

Provincial police said the driver, a 28-year-old man, was charged with possessions of property obtained by crime, using a plate not authorized for a vehicle, driving while under suspension, and failing to comply with recognizance.

The passenger, a 24-year-old woman, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

The driver was held in custody for a bail hearing and the passenger has a court date set for October 12.
