Late night drive turns up stolen vehicle

A couple of Chatham residents have been charged after they were accused of driving a stolen vehicle on Fairview Line.

Chatham-Kent OPP said a vehicle was pulled over near Highway 40 around midnight on September 11. The officer noticed that the plate on the vehicle did not match and the driver had a suspended licence.

Provincial police said the driver, a 28-year-old man, was charged with possessions of property obtained by crime, using a plate not authorized for a vehicle, driving while under suspension, and failing to comply with recognizance.

The passenger, a 24-year-old woman, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime.

The driver was held in custody for a bail hearing and the passenger has a court date set for October 12.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
