Guns, ammunition stolen during break-in

Chatham-Kent police are trying to track down a semi-automatic rifle and a shotgun that were both targeted during a recent break-in in the Dresden-area.

Police said sometime between 12:45 p.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday, someone broke into a residence on Base Line in Camden Township and took off with two long guns:

- a Ruger .223 Mini 14 semi-automatic rifle along with two magazines and two boxes of ammunition

- a Rossi 12 gauge double barrel side by side shotgun along with two boxes of ammunition

Police said the triggers were locked on both of the firearms.

Whoever stole those guns also made off with several other items from the home including:

- a 42" Samsung TV

- an iMac desktop computer

- a gold ring with January birthstone

- a Camden Township watch for 20 years of service

- a Gold ring with the initials VWM

The total value of the theft is $4,000 and anyone with information is asked to contact Chatham-Kent police or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
