Maroons top Legionnaires 4-3

The Chatham Maroons edged the Sarna Legionnaires 4-3 in Junior B hockey action on Thursday.

Zach Power kicked things off for Chatham with a goal 3:38 into the first period, but Sarnia tied the game with a goal of their own halfway through the frame.

Brett Fisher put the Maroons back in the lead by scoring late in the first and another 9:43 into the second to give Chatham a 3-1 advantage. Kyle Fisher added another goal for Chatham minutes later to extend their lead.

The Legionnaires tried to regain ground with a goal late in the second and the only goal of the third frame, but it wasn't enough to surpass the Maroons.

Chatham goalie Adam Harris made 25 saves out of 28 shots on net.

The Maroons return home on Sunday to face off against the London Nationals at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
