Search of ditched vehicle comes up empty

Chatham-Kent police are still investigating after they found an empty vehicle upside down in a ditch just off of Bear Line Road early Thursday morning.

Police said an off-duty officer spotted it near St. Andrews Line just outside of Chatham on the way into work at around 5 a.m. Thursday.

When police showed up, they searched the area with thermal imaging cameras, and even called in the K9 unit, but they couldn't find the driver.

Police shut down the road for a couple of hours for the investigation, but it has since re-opened to traffic.
