Maroons outshine Stars 6-2

The Chatham Maroons topped the St. Thomas Stars 6-2 in GOJHL action on Friday.

Justin Badour kicked the game off with a goal for the Maroons 8:34 into the first period, but St. Thomas scored in the second half of the frame to tie things up.

The Stars took a one-goal advantage after scoring in under a minute into the second, but Eddie Schulz followed with two back-to-back goals for the Maroons to give them the lead.  Dakota Bohn and Nolan Gardiner each added a goal as well to give Chatham a 5-2 lead heading into the final period.

Thomas Michaud capped off the win for Chatham with a goal late in the third.

The Maroons return home on Sunday to face the Stars again at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
