Police deploy taser during trespassing call

A 38-year-old man is facing a pair of charges after police got a call about a trespasser in Wallaceburg Thursday night.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called in after a man allegedly refused to leave a residence, even after the homeowner asked him to go.

When officers arrived, they told the man to leave, but he allegedly refused again, so police arrested him. Police said that during that arrest, the man allegedly resisted officers, so they used a taser on him before taking him into custody.

One of the officers reported a minor injury to his hand as a result of the interaction.

A Wallaceburg man who was arrested in connection with the case is charged with trespassing and assault with intent to resist arrest. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
