Crash sends two kids to hospital

Five people, including an infant, were taken to hospital after a three-car collision in Chatham.

The crash happened just after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, on Lacroix Street between Tweedsmuir Avenue West and Chippewa Drive.

According to police, a 30-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle with a baby inside has been charged with careless driving.

Chatham-Kent police said there was also a child in another vehicle, but neither was hurt. According to police on the scene, the people taken to hospital were taken for "precautionary reasons."

Police estimated the total damage at $35,000.

The scene has been cleared and police confirmed the street has been reopened to the public.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
