Driver avoids injury after rollover

A scary situation in Chatham avoided tragedy Wednesday as a car rolled over into a ditch full of rainwater.

The driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to hospital as a precaution and is expected to be fine.

The incident occurred on Queens Line west of Sinclair Road shortly before 4 p.m.  According to police on the scene, the driver simply lost control of the vehicle and ended up in the ditch. Officers added alcohol and drugs weren't factors in the crash.

It's unknown if any charges will be laid against the driver.

Queens Line was down to a single lane for roughly an hour.
