Halloween forecast will not scare away trick-or-treaters

Fear of "melting in the rain" should not be a concern this All Hallows' Eve.

Environment Canada's forecast does call for rain during the day on Wednesday, however, that is expected to change.

"We have rain in the forecast today but that should be over by noon -- maybe early this afternoon at the latest," said Meteorologist Peter Kimbell. "Then it's just cloudy conditions."

Daytime highs on Halloween are expected to reach 15 C. The temperature will drop slightly once it's time to go trick-or-treating but Kimbell said it will be nowhere near the freezing mark.

"By the time the sun goes down, [around] 6 p.m., it may be about 11 C or 12 C," said Kimbell. "No precipitation is expected by that time and so [it'll] be very pleasant for trick-or-treaters."

In the meantime, provincial police are reminding children to stay safe this Halloween.
