Man rescued from Thames River

A man believed to be high was rescued from the Thames River early Monday morning according to police.

Chatham-Kent Police confirmed they rescued the man by the Lacroix Street Bridge shortly after 4 a.m. Officers believed he was under the influence of drugs.

Police think the man was in the river and exposed to the elements for several hours.

The 31-year-old Chatham man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

Police wouldn't comment on the man's condition.
