Alleged stunt driver stopped on Merlin Road

A 53-year-old Chatham man will have to find his way around without a vehicle or his driver's licence until the middle of next week.

Chatham-Kent OPP said they locked up his vehicle and suspended his licence for seven days after allegedly recording him driving 150 kilometres per hour in an 80 km/h zone just west of Chatham Wednesday night.

Officers were conducting radar enforcement on Merlin Road near Louden Line when they pulled the vehicle over at around 11 p.m.

The accused is charged with racing a motor vehicle and is set to appear in court on January 2, 2018.
