LKDSB raising awareness about bullying

It’s bullying awareness and prevention week at the Lambton Kent District School Board.

All this week parents, students and staff are encouraged to learn more about bullying and the negative effects it can have.

Schools in the district will be participating in a variety of activities to promote bullying prevention, including hosting assemblies on the topic and displaying positive messaging around classrooms.

“The LKDSB is committed to ensuring all students, staff, parents/guardians and visitors feel safe and welcome in our schools and workplaces,” said Director of Education Jim Costello. “Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week is an opportunity to reflect on the importance of these core values, as a positive school climate is fundamental to ensuring students’ success.”

The school board is also reminding people that bullying can be represented in various forms including physical, verbal, social and electronic.
