Driver caught with pot and alcohol in vehicle

A 24-year-old man from Windsor is facing a few charges after getting stopped on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

Provincial police said a vehicle was stopped for speeding on the highway near Queen's Line, around 9:15 p.m. on November 22. It's alleged the driver had open cans of beer and marijuana inside the vehicle at the time.

The driver is now charged with speeding, having care or control of a vehicle with cannabis readily available, and driving a vehicle with open container of liquor readily available.

The charges have not been proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
