Maroons fall 2-1 to Nationals in OT

The Chatham Maroons dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the London Nationals on Wednesday.

Dane Johnstone scored 4:33 into the first period to give the Maroons an early lead. Chatham was able to hold off the Nationals throughout the second period and most of the third, but Noah Tooke scored for London late in the frame to tie the game and force OT.

James Turner scored the game-winner for the Nationals 2:01 into extra time.

The Nationals also outshot the Maroons 30-26.

The Nationals are in Sarnia on Thursday to battle the Legionnaires at 7:10 p.m. And then on Sunday, the Maroons are on home ice to take on the Legionnaires at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
