Ontario Works cheques won't be mailed out this month

Even though Canada Post workers are back on the job, mail disruptions will once again affect the delivery of Ontario Works cheques.

The municipality stated that December's Ontario Works cheques will not be mailed out and will instead have to be picked up. The process will be similar to November, where there were specified locations and dates listed for residents. Those who receive direct deposit will not be affected.

Monthly income statements can be accessed through the Chatham-Kent municipal website.

Those who go to pick-up their cheques will need proper identification, either one form of photo ID or two forms of non-photo ID.

Ontario Works cheques can be picked up at the following locations on the specified dates:

For residents in Chatham, Dover Centre, Grand Pointe, Kent Bridge, North & South Buxton, and Paincourt:

November 29 and November 30 -- 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Employment & Social Services building, 435 Grand Ave. W., Chatham.

December 3 -- 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Employment & Social Services building, 435 Grand Ave. W., Chatham.

Residents living in Coatsworth, Merlin, Tilbury, and Wheatley:

November 29 and November 30 -- 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Tilbury Municipal Centre, 17 Superior St., Tilbury

December 3 -- 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Employment & Social Services, 435 Grand Ave. W., Chatham

If you live in Blenheim, Cedar Springs, Charing Cross, Dealtown, Erie Beach, Erieau and Shrewsbury:

November 29 and November 30 -- 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Blenheim Municipal Centre, 35 Talbot St. W., Blenheim

December 3 -- 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Employment & Social Services, 435 Grand Ave. W., Chatham

If you live in Bothwell, Thamesville, Duart, Highgate, Morpeth, Muirkirk, and Ridgetown:

November 29 and November 30 -- 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Ridgetown Municipal Centre, 45 Main St. E., Ridgetown

December 3 -- 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Employment & Social Services, 435 Grand Ave. W., Chatham

If you live in Dresden, Tupperville and Wallaceburg:

November 29 and November 30 -- 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Wallaceburg Municipal Centre, 786 Dufferin Ave., Wallaceburg

December 3 -- 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Employment & Social Services, 435 Grand Ave. W., Chatham
