Pedestrian hit by vehicle in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as they investigate a serious crash that took place in Chatham over the weekend.

Officers said a 49-year-old Chatham man was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by a vehicle on Keil Drive near McKinnon Drive at around 8 a.m. Saturday. Police said the man is still in the hospital in stable condition.

The 66-year-old Chatham man who was driving the vehicle that hit the pedestrian was not hurt.

There is no word on charges yet.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
