Bloomfield Road in front of the ethanol plant in Chatham will be open to drivers throughout the winter with some more road work expected there in the spring.
In a video released on Twitter, Chatham-Kent Director of Engineering and Transportation Chris Thibert said there were some unanticipated delays with the project, but there is a base layer of asphalt down that will allow motorists to use the road for the next couple of months before the final layer of asphalt is put down and bike lanes are fully installed.
The final phase of the project between Riverview Drive and Richmond Street is expected to take place in the spring of 2019.
