Man arrested after Leamington stabbing

A Windsor man has been arrested following a New Year's Eve assault in Leamington.

Police said the incident occurred around 6 p.m. Monday night. A woman was driving on Whitwam Street in Leamington when she was flagged down by a pedestrian who claimed he had been stabbed.

The 24-year-old man was suffering from life-threatening injuries and the woman drove him to a local hospital.

The investigation led police to an apartment on Lutsch Street in Leamington. A 21-year-old Windsor man was arrested and has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.
