Maroons top Nationals 7-3

The London Nationals dropped a 7-3 decision to the Chatham Maroons in GOJHL action on Wednesday.

After a scoreless first period, Eddie Schulz kicked off scoring with a goal for Chatham 27 seconds into the second frame. Christian Polillo and Riley MacRae responded for London with a goal each, but Maddux Rychel, Sean O'Brien and Zach Power scored back-to-back goals to give Chatham a 4-2 lead.

Rychel scored his second of the night 6:05 into the third period. Zach Sheedy added another for London as well, but O'Brien scored late in the frame to add to the Maroons' lead.  Griffin Robinson scored another for Chatham with just over 1:30 left in the game to cap off their win.

Despite the loss, London outshot Chatham 39-30

The Nationals are headed to Sarnia on Thursday to take on the Legionnaires at 7:10 p.m. And then on Friday, the Maroons are in St. Marys to face off against the Lincolns at 7:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
