Super Dave, Curb Your Enthusiasm actor Bob Einstein dead at 76

Comedy writer and actor Bob Einstein has died at the age of 76.

Einstein's career spanned 50 years, starting with the portrayal of character "Officer Judy" on the "Smothers Brothers" show before it was cancelled by CBS in 1969. He went on to create and play fictional daredevil Super Dave Osborne for sketch comedy show "Bizarre," late-night shows, his own Showtime series, and in an animated sitcom. Einstein most recently portrayed Marty Funkhouser on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm starting in 2004 until 2017.

Einstein also garnered writing credits on The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, and also appeared in numerous TV programs and movies, including Modern Romance and Ocean's Thirteen.

His younger brother Albert Brooks posted a tribute to Einstein on Twitter, calling him “brilliantly funny man” who “will be missed forever.”

In a Twitter tribute to his “dear brother,” Brooks called Einstein a “brilliantly funny man” who “will be missed forever.”
