Early morning garage fire causes $100K in damage

Chatham-Kent Fire Services were busy Sunday morning after a fire broke out in a residential garage.

Fire officials said the blaze started Sunday around 2:30 a.m. on Taylor Avenue in Chatham.

When crews arrived at the scene a detached garage was engulfed in flames. The flames had also extended to the exterior wall of a neighbouring home.

No injuries were reported and damage is estimated at around $100,000. The cause remains undetermined.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
