Carleton wins Big 12 weekly honour

Chatham native Bridget Carleton has been named the Big 12 women's basketball player of the week.

It's the third time this season that the Iowa State senior has won the honour. A five-person media panel selects the weekly winners.

Carleton led the Cyclones to a 2-0 start in Big 12 play. She averaged 7.5 rebounds and six assists against K-State and Kansas, shooting 58.3 per cent from the field. She scored 26 points against K-State, and 33 against the Jayhawks.

Iowa State is now ranked 20th and plays TCU Wednesday night.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
