Investigation underway after head-on crash near Chatham

A 57-year-old man is receiving treatment for possible life-threatening injuries after a crash just east of Chatham early Tuesday morning.

Chatham-Kent police said the Chatham Township man was involved in a two-vehicle, head-on crash on Pinehurst Line just east of Harwich Road at around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

The initial investigation showed that a vehicle that was facing west on the roadway was hit by a vehicle that was heading east.

The traffic unit has taken over the investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Constable Randy Whittaker at randyw@chatham-kent.ca or 519-355-1092.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
