Maroons shoot down Stars 6-2

The Chatham Maroons hammered the St. Thomas Stars 6-2 on Friday.

St. Thomas was quick to take the lead with a goal 1:20 into the first period, but Eddie Schulz scored shortly after for Chatham to tie the game.

Zach Power, Matt Murray, Dane Johnstone and Nolan Gardiner all scored in the second to give the Maroons a 5-1 lead.   Craig Spence scored early in the third to extend the lead for Chatham, and the Maroons were able to keep the Stars at bay until the final minute when they added one last futile goal.

The Maroons also outshout the Stars 43-37.

The Maroons will return home on Sunday to take on the London Nationals at 7 p.m.
