Snow day for Chatham-Kent schools

Students in Chatham-Kent who were hoping for a long weekend will get their wish.

Poor road conditions have prompted school buses to be cancelled for all zones across the Lambton-Kent area Monday. The schools will remain open for the day, but there will be no bus service.

Walpole Island Elementary school is closed to students but will remain open for staff today.

A snow squall watch ended for Chatham-Kent early Monday morning, but there is still a snow squall warning in effect for the London-Middlesex area.

Ontario Provincial Police have also closed a section of Highway 402 in Lambton County due to poor weather conditions.
