Man charged with domestic assault

A 30-year-old Blenheim man is charged with two counts of assault in connection with a domestic violence investigation.

Chatham-Kent police said they arrested the man after getting a call about a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham and learned through their investigation that this was not the first alleged incident of violence between the couple.

The accused was arrested, charged, and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two arrests on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police have rounded up two men in their 30s who were wanted for skipping out on their court dates.

Police said they arrested a 31-year-old Wallaceburg man Tuesday morning in Wallaceburg. In addition to an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court, the man was also wanted in connection with a shoplifting incident.

In a separate case, an officer on general patrol in Wallaceburg arrested a 33-year-old Walpole Island man early Wednesday morning during a traffic stop on Bridge Street.

Both of the accused were arrested, charged, and released with conditions and future court dates.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
