UPDATE: Highway 401 eastbound lanes completely re-opened in CK

There are no more lane restrictions in place on the eastbound Highway 401 through Chatham-Kent after a crash took place just east of Tilbury early Thursday morning.

Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene just east of the Queens Line interchange (exit 63) in Tilbury shortly after 7 a.m. Thursday after a single-vehicle collision involving a large truck. Local paramedics reported that one person was taken from the scene for assessment and treatment of minor injuries.

The right lane of the highway was closed for several hours to help facilitate the clean-up and the investigation after a commercial motor vehicle went through a guard rail on the south side of the highway and rolled onto its side. However, OPP fully re-opened the highway just after 11 a.m. Thursday.

Police said charges are pending.
