Owen Sound attacks Spitfires 4-3 in overtime

Maksim Sushko scored the winner with 18 seconds left in overtime as the Owen Sound Attack beat the Windsor Spitfires 4-3 at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Centre.

The Attack is in third place in the OHL Midwest Division with 52 points. Windsor gains a point and is in fourth place in the West Division with 46.

Kaleb Pearson's power-play goal at 7:27 in the first stanza put Owen Sound on the board first. Beyond that, the first period was rather quiet offensively, with Windsor leading Owen Sound 7-6 in the shot-on-goal count.

The Spits tied the game in the second frame on Chase Campbell's eighth goal of the year, at 5:50. Both teams then exchanged a goal apiece, as Aidan Burns' goal at 8:54 put the Attack back in the lead, though Windsor tied the game again with Jean-Luc Foudy scoring his fifth goal of the season.

Tyler Angle's goal on the power play at 13:51 provided Windsor with a 3-2 lead, but Owen Sound tied the game again and forced overtime on Barret Kirwin's late lamplighter.

Mack Guzda stopped 26 out of 29 shots in net for the Attack. Colton Incze had 27 saves for the Spitfires.

The Spitfires next face Saginaw at the WFCU Centre Thursday night, while Owen Sound travels to Barrie.
