Guns stolen from Dresden shop

Chatham-Kent police are working to track down some guns that were taken during a break-in at a hunting and fishing store in Dresden.

Police said someone broke into The Crappie Store on Metcalfe Street sometime between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 9:30 a.m. Tuesday by damaging a storefront window.

Whoever broke in also took off with the following items:

- a .22 cal Savage 22 Mark II bolt action rifle – model 26800

- a 12-gauge Remington Express Supermag pump action shotgun – model 870

- a 30-ought-6 Savage Axis XP bolt action rifle with a Weaver scope – model S1924

- a box of Winchester .22 cal ammunition – 100 rounds

The damage caused by the break-in is estimated at $1,000 while the value of the stolen goods is around $1,700.
